Here's a quick post on some of my recent work, some PGA, MLB, NASCAR and UFC, acronyms galore! It was nice to be working on something other than the heavy load of baseball, hopefully I'll be able to get some more PGA or NASCAR when they're back in town in September since I'm out of town shooting the Cap Ripken World Series instead of being in Chicago for some UFC action.

Coal City EF-3 Tornado Damage & Storm Chasing
This year has had its fair share of severe weather in Illinois, Coal City got struck by an EF-3 tornado. On November 17, 2013 they were hit with an EF-2 tornado as well, which is the same storm that hit Washington, Illinois with an EF-4.
I've always had a fascination with severe weather and I've found a new outlet for it with my friend Brian Davidson who is a storm chaser and streams video with SevereStudios.com. I've always had a working knowledge of weather but this year and this year I've definitely gained a lot more. I always keep forgetting to get formally get spotter trained so next year I'll make sure I do that.

Chicago Blackhawks Win the Stanley Cup
I am nearly a month late on this post, the Chicago Blackhawks had their parade and rally on June 18th after winning the 2015 Stanley Cup. I was able to squeeze my way into Sluggers World Class Sports Bar just outside of Wrigley Field. I definitely was cheating with the radio I was listening to which was a good 10-15 seconds ahead of what everyone in the bar saw. That gave a nice heads up when there would be a good a goal. It was fun tag teaming the bar with my friend Ting Shen and Christian K. Lee, the AP intern in Chicago.

Recent Work Through 6-20-15
As you can see by the title of this post, I'm way behind on posting updates. While the Stanley Cup Final was being played at the United Center, I was on MLB duty since everyone was over there covering the Blackhawks. It was a lot of fun shooting baseball for 6/7 days during that week. This was a nice warmup for when I work at the Cal Ripken World Series at the end of July.
